Micromax to launch new Canvas-series flagship on Sept 8

Micromax is all set to launch a new flagship Android smartphone on Monday in the Indian market. The company is holding a press event in New Delhi, where it will be unveiling this Canvas-series smartphone.

Not many details are available at this point but thanks to Snapdeal teasers, we do know the phone will be exclusively released on the e-retailer. You can check one such teaser here, which reveals that the smartphone will go on sale immediately after the announcement and sport leather finish on the back.

In contrast to the reports on several media outlets, this will not be an Android One smartphone, which are scheduled to be unveiled on September 15 at a Google India press event.

As per sources familiar with Micromax’s plans, the upcoming smartphone will be priced around INR 13-14,000 in the country and will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Mi 3, new Moto G as well as Asus Zenfone 5.

Micromax Canvas Beat Launched Exclusively on Aircel at Rs. 9,999

Micromax, in partnership with Aircel, has launched the Canvas Beat smartphone in India at Rs. 9,999.

Notably, the latest Micromax Canvas Beat smartphone will be exclusively retailed by Aircel in the country and is being touted as a music smartphone. The handset comes preloaded with a music-dedicated Aircel Music app and comes with 1,000 free songs.

Aircel has also announced a few calling and data benefits for Canvas Beat customers, which include full talk time of Rs. 118 (on a recharge of Rs. 118); all local and STD calling at 1 paisa/second for the first 6 months; 1GB of free data (depending on the location - 2G/3G) per month for 6 months, and other ISD calling benefits.

It's worth noting that the Micromax Canvas Beat was launched alongside the Canvas Social in Russia, when the company announced operations in that country in January.

Recently, the Canvas Beat went on sale in India at Rs. 9,499 via an e-commerce website.

The Canvas Beat (A114R) runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is a dual-SIM phablet (GSM+GSM). It features a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor along with 1GB of RAM.

The Micromax Canvas Beat sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera accompanied by LED flash, and also includes a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, with expandable storage supported via microSD card (up to 32GB). It also packs a 1900mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 5 hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time.

Earlier this week, Micromax launched a new budget Android 4.4 KitKat-based Canvas smartphone, the Canvas Fire (A104), at Rs. 6,999.

Aircel unveils Micromax Canvas Beat 3G music smartphone

The Micromax Canvas Beat has been launched in India as the first 3G music smartphone and Aircel appears to hold exclusivity over it in the country. The device will be available through the network provider for just under Rs 10000, bundled with various features.


 
 
What’s more, the Micromax Canvas Beat will be packed with content designed specifically for music buffs, reports BGR India where PTI has been cited as the source. The smartphone is yet to make its appearance on the company’s website, but popped up on an online retailer last month where it was tagged at Rs 9499.

For reminder’s sake, this same smartphone was one of the first from Micromax to go on sale in Russia and a rebranded version has been available in India for months now as the Canvas 2.2 A114. Well, the handset has a different design altogether and based on the retail listing, it features dual stereo speaks on the rear.

For an entry-level handset, it has other interesting attributes as well, including a 5-inch qHD display, dual SIM support and HSPA+ 21Mbps. The Canvas Beat also packs a 1.2GHz quad core processor, an entire gigabyte of RAM, 4GB of storage and microSD memory expansion. Then there’s a 2MP front camera and an 8MP rear snapper, while a 1900mAh battery is tucked away on the inside.

Micromax Canvas Fire A104 hits market with Android KitKat and Rs 6999 price tag

Just earlier this month, the Micromax Canvas Fire was first introduced by the Gurgaon-based company in the form of its A093 model, and it has now gone on to launch a successor to it which bears a A104 model name. Priced at the same Rs 6999, this handset features a quad core CPU and a 4.5-inch display.

Screen size is hence a main difference between the A093 and the A104, as the former features a 4-inch panel on its front. While both run the Android 4.4 KitKat OS, the upgraded version of the Canvas Fire handset kicks in 1GB of RAM rather than the 512MB module that’s present on the A093. The new device moreover benefits from front-facing speakers which we’ve also seen on its fierce competitor, the Moto E.



The same 1.3GHz quad core processor powers both the Canvas Fire devices, and dual SIM capabilities can of course be found in each of them. Like its predecessor, the A104 from Micromax comes equipped with a 5MP rear camera and a VGA webcam. This device is powered by a 1900mAh battery which is a slight upgrade over the power unit utilized by the A093 model.

Micromax Canvas Duet AE90 and Canvas HD Plus A190 listed online

Indian handset firm Micromax has listed two new smartphones - Canvas Duet AE90 and Canvas HD Plus A190 on its official website. The pricing of the phones have not been revealed but they are being sold by an e-commerce retailer (Infibeam) at Rs 8,439 (Canvas Duet) and Rs 12,349 (Canvas HD Plus).

Micromax Canvas Duet is a dual-sim CDMA+GSM phone that sports a 4.5-inch qHD(540x960p) display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. 

The phone sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes with 4GB internal storage and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The phone also features a microSD card slot that supports storage cards of up to 32GB. 

Micromax Canvas Duet comes with an 1800mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports EVDO, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and 3G. It comes with several pre-loaded apps including Kingsoft, Getit, Opera Mini, M! Live,Hike and some games (Zombie smasher, Bounce ball, bubble X Slice). 

Micromax Canvas HD Plus is the successor to the company's Canvas HD smartphone and the first Micromax phone to be powered by a hexa-core processor. 

It sports a 5-inch HD(720x1280p) display. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek hexa-core processor and 1GB RAM. 

The phone sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 2MP front-facing camera. It comes with 8GB internal storage and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone also features a microSD card slot that supports storage cards of up to 32GB. 

Micromax Canvas HD Plus comes with a 2000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G. It comes with several pre-loaded apps including Kingsoft Office, Getit, M! Live,Hike and some games.

Micromax partners Vodafone India

Under this new partnership, Micromax and Vodafone India are coming together to reach out to their set of Indian consumers.

 

 

Along with the Micromax Canvas Knight 3G Smartphone model, Vodafone India will offer free data usage of up to 2GB for customers not active on a data pack. Vodafone’s focus is to increase consumer data adoption and along-with Micromax’s product expertise
