After quite a long wait, the Panasonic Eluga U has been officially unveiled in India for Rs 18990 and it’s being touted as a mid-range option in the revived smartphone series. The phone carries the same price as the P81 and it also offers similar features, but in a smaller design.
Just yesterday, a local retailer published details about the Panasonic Eluga U on Facebook and Twitter. Apart from this, an eBay seller put the device up for grabs at 17,490 and also disclosed a lot of information on the handset ahead of its launch. Well, the features weren’t much of a secret in the first as a benchmark listing did the needful by leaking out most of the hardware.
If you were expected the smartphone to be a high-end one, then you’re in for some disappointment. The Eluga U is a mid-range release that offers a 5-inch 720p HD display and Android 4.4 KitKat. Like most devices on the market, it also comes with a quad core processor, but a Snapdragon 400 one instead of a MediaTek chipset.
The phone doesn’t have dual SIM slots, but it does deliver HSPA+ and a slew of other connectivity features. Additionally, the device has an alluring design where the rear panel flaunts a mirror printed texture with a glass inlay, while Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the front.
