The thin and light gaming laptop market has a new challenger. Origin
has announced the EVO15-S, a 15.6-inch notebook equipped with the latest
from Nvidia and an optional 3K display.
The EVO15-S laptop is powered by an Nvidia GeForce GTX 870M 3GB GPU,
an Intel Haswell Core i7-4710HQ CPU, and 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3L 1600MHz
RAM. For storage, the notebook includes dual 128GB SSDs in Raid 0 and a
1TB HDD. Two different screen options are being offered, with one
providing a 1,920 by 1,080 display and the other delivering a 2,880 by
1,620 resolution screen.
A dual fan setup keeps the EVO15-S cool, and Killer E2200 game networking and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 make sure you stay connected during multiplayer matches. The notebook also comes with a backlit keyboard with anti-ghosting keys, a trio of USB 3.0 ports, and a 720p webcam.
All of the hardware can be found in a 0.79-inch thin body that weighs
just 4.36 pounds. To add some personality to the gaming machine, owners
have the option of decorating the laptop with a laser etched or custom
painted panel.
The 1080p Origin EVO15-S gaming laptop can be purchased now with a starting price of $2,199 USD. If you'd like to pick up the model with the 3K display, you'll have to wait a bit longer, but it is coming soon.
