With its price set at Rs 12499, the iBall Slide 3G 7803Q-900 has been launched in India by the Mumbai-based company, equipped with a range of advanced features and an unusually sized display. To be exact, this device carries on it a 7.85-inch panel and it is powered by a quad core processor which gives a boost to its processing capabilities.
The iBall Slide 3G 7803Q-900 tablet lags behind in the software department, as it runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version of Google’s mobile OS. Although this version has been successfully running on quite a few devices from around the world and more so on those made in India, consumers have started demanding the KitKat variant more than anytime else. With affordable smartphones having adhered to this demand, tablets should soon start doing the same as well in order to stay relevant.
This device’s 7.85-inch IPS display is able to reproduce its visuals in a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. This places the iBall Slide in the 8-inch category of slates which makes it an apt device for those looking for something to satisfy their entertainment needs. However, the fact that the panel is not exactly of HD or full HD resolution might put some people off.
The slab is granted its necessary fuel from within by a 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7 processor which has its four cores clocked at 1.5GHz each. Quad core processors are the norm of the day, and iBall has understood this which is why it has decided to incorporate the setup into its latest tablet.
On the memory front, 1GB worth of RAM is on offer through the iBall Slide 3G 7803Q-900, apart from 16GB of internal storage. And of course, there’s provision for further expansions as well, thanks to its microSD card slot which supports an additional 32GB of space.
This new tablet from iBall is the beneficiary of a dual camera setup. It incorporates a 5MP AF camera which occupies space on its rear surface and a 2MP basic snapper which can be spotted on its front face. Although the rear snapper has a relatively small sensor, the fact that it’s an autofocus one gives it an advantage. Furthermore, it also kicks in an LED flash besides it. For basic video calling, its 2MP front-facing camera should definitely suffice. This tablet is powered by a 4000mAh battery, the performance of which can only be judged over a period of time.
