We will be comparing these devices to see which one is better and why. One thing is for sure, they both have perks and they both have flaws. Neither one is perfect, but one of them is closer to being so than the other, so check below to see which one is it.
HTC DESIRE 210
This device is believed to be designed for users that aren’t so keen on the technical part of things, when it comes to smartphones. It’s a compact little phone, as it fits in your palm with no problem. Worth mentioning, is the fact that it was released in June 2014 and does not feature support for the new Android KitKat.
Design and Display
The device isn’t small, or big, so you could say that it’s somewhere in between, with its measurements being 4.95 x 2.56 x 0.41 inches, all wrapped around a 4 inch multi touch display, with a pixel density of 233 ppi. It’s not the brightest screen you’ll ever see, but it does come with a proximity sensor.
Camera, Specs and Battery
In terms of specifications, this phone is quite modest. It has a 5 MP camera on the rear, capable of recording video at a 720p quality, which isn’t all that bad, but also sports a 0.3 VGA camera on the front, which isn’t all that good. The 1GHz dual core processor and 512 MB of RAM complete the list of modest specifications, alongside the 1300 mAh battery. A battery that small isn’t enough to power too much for too long, but in all honesty, it doesn’t have all that much to power.
MOTOROLA MOTO X
We know a few things about the Moto X, even though it isn’t set to be released until 23 August 2014. We know that Motorola is planning on filling this device with a lot of cool specs, and the only things about it that don’t look that good right now are the irreplaceable battery and the lack of a micro SD slot for extra memory.
Display and Design
The perks of this device’s design and display are the added scratch resistance, proximity sensor and multi touch features. The display will run on a standard RGB matrix but using the new OLED technology. This will allow you to observe how your screen displays true color density.
Camera, Specs and Battery
The advanced camera features go hand in hand with the superior camera specifications, well above those of the Desire 210. It has 10 MP rear camera, and a 2 MP shooter on the front of the device. Its internal memory is 4 times that of the Desire 210, namely 16 GB, and it also leaves the HTC devices behind in terms of CPU and RAM, with 2 GB of RAM and a 1.7 GHz dual core processing unit. Everything is powered by the included 2200 mAh battery.
Conclusion
It is pretty clear that the Desire 210 is nowhere near the Moto X in terms of specifications and power. One of the Moto X’s strong points, its 10 MP camera, is no match for the Desire 210, which doesn’t even support standard features such as LED Flash, auto focus or brightness auto adjustment.
You should be able to get the Moto X on Amazon.com for about $300, while the Desire 210 is a lot cheaper, due to its reduced spec list, in comparison.
