Samsung Gear Fit gets a price cut in India

Samsung's Gear Fit wearable fitness tracker device has received a Rs 3,800 price cut and is now available at Rs 12,100 on Samsung's official online store. 

Gear Fit was first unveiled in February on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress. Samsung started selling the device in India in April at Rs 15,900. 



Samsung Gear Fit offers a custom, real-time fitness coaching to provide personalized advice and workout recommendations. It features a pedometer, accelerometer, Gyro and Heart Rate sensors. 

Offering a Super AMOLED display, the Gear Fit comes with additional functionality such as providing instant notifications from Galaxy smartphones for incoming calls, emails, SMS, alarm, S-planner, and other third party apps. The device is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. 

The Gear Fit's straps are changeable and come in black, orange and mocha grey colours. 

Samsung's Gear 2 smartwatch, which was launched at Rs 21,900 and Gear 2 Neo watch launched at Rs 15,900 are available at Rs 21,550 and Rs 15,450, respectively. 

Samsung had earlier slashed the price of its first smartwatch, Galaxy Gear. The model is now available at Rs 15,290 on the company's official e-store, a discount of Rs 3,785. On January 12, the manufacturer had cut its price to Rs 19,075 from the launch price of Rs 22,990.
