During July's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Nintendo announced that they would be releasing three new Zelda games for the Wii U and the 3DS. Two of the games are for the Wii U, Hyrule Warriors and the new Zelda title. The third one will also be a Zelda title but for the 3DS.
Nintendo has not announced any official release date for the Zelda game but during the Nintendo conference in E3, a trailer video was shown and at the end of the video, the year 2015 appeared. Questions lingered during the conference on whether the game would be released before, after or during E3 2015.
Most likely, the new Zelda game along with the other titles will get a release sometime after E3 ends.
A feature that Shigeru Miyamoto, Senior Managing Director and General Manager of Integrated Research and Development, is excited about is the upcoming title's deviance from the previous Legend of Zelda titles.
In previous Zelda games, the gameplay was linear; players would go from one dungeon to another in an orderly fashion. The Wii U release would be an "open world" game where the players can freely choose where they want to go next. This way, the game is given a more action-adventure feel.
Hyrule Warriors is also a release from the Zelda franchise where Nintendo has teamed up with Tecmo Koei to give players a hack-and-slash game based on the Zelda universe. The game will have the basic Dynasty Warriors feel, the franchise that Koei is famous for. The game is already set for release on Sept. 26.
